Eye Contact Camera

Target

Makes video telephony more pleasant, because the camera can be positioned in the immediate vicinity of the eyes of the person you are talking to, resulting in real eye contact.

With conventional cameras built into the monitor frame or mounted on top of it, the conversation partners never look into each other's eyes.

Construction

A transparent carrier strip attached to the upper edge of the monitor, carrying a camera module at the lower end, slidable to position the camera directly next to or above the face of the conversational partner, pivotable to disappear from the monitor image when not in use, with conductive tracks at the edge to transmit the power supply to the camera and the signals from the camera.
